End-to-End Cryptographic Key Provisioning, Derivation and Secure Flash Storage in Production ECUs

Abstract:
Secure key injection protocols in Tier 1 plant manufacturing environments and automated key derivation using NIST SP 800-108 KDFs.
1. Plant-Floor Key Provisioning During manufacturing, every ECU must be provisioned with unique asymmetric device keys and symmetric transport keys. Transporting plain keys across factory networks is a severe vulnerability.
2. Diffie-Hellman Key Exchange and KDFs ECU Protection implements ephemeral Elliptic Curve Diffie-Hellman (ECDH) key agreement combined with NIST SP 800-108 counter-mode key derivation functions. Keys are injected encrypted over CAN or Ethernet, burned directly into secure HSM flash, and verified via hardware-enforced attestation certificates.
